Classes

What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is the most fun you will ever have getting really, really fit!

More scientifically put, it’s a strength and conditioning program involving constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Classes are an hour-long and consistently include:

  1. group warm-up

  2. movement instruction

  3. the workout of the day or “WOD”

  4. cool-down/stretch

We are proud to base our teaching on the tested-and-true, widely respected CrossFit methodology.

Gymnastics

Pull-up bars, rings, jump ropes

Weightlifting

Dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells

Metabolic Conditioning

Running, Rowing, Biking, Jumping

We take a good mix of these different movements, combining them in creative ways under varied time constraints to create a specific stimulus to your body. Each workout will be different and the intensity will vary, causing a unique response that accelerates the body’s adaptation to exercise, meaning “you get really fit, really fast” compared to traditional physical training practices. Our classes are kept at 10-12 members per class to ensure quality coaching. It doesn’t stop there, though. In order to be fit, healthy, and reach our goals, we need proper nutrition. We are helping our members live a wholesome, active life well into their golden years.

However, it isn’t just the movements that matter, it is also how we do them. It has been shown that intense exercise (high resistance, moderate to high volume and minimal rest periods) enhances the effectiveness of functional movements even more.

Our core values include prioritizing sleep and our personal relationships, developing the discipline of consistent healthy eating, attending crossfit 3-5 times per week and staying humble and thankful for all we have and are able to do.
