CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program consisting mainly of a mix of aerobic exercise, calisthenics (body weight exercises), and weightlifting. Most classes are a hour-long, starting off with a warm-up, skill development and then the workout of the day or “WOD”.

Our classes are taught based on traditional CrossFit programming:

Bodyweight, pull-up bars, jump ropes

Dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells

Running, Rowing, Biking, Jumping

We want to mix these different movements up combining them all different ways under different time constraints to create stressors on you body. When done at a high intensity at safe levels its creates a positive response on you body that makes you stronger and more fit. Our classes are kept at 10-12 members per class to ensure quality coaching. We don’t want to stop there with our members though. In order to be fit and healthy we need proper nutrition. We want to help our members to live a wholesome active life well into their golden years.

However, it isn’t just the movements that matter, it is how we do them and it has been shown that intense exercise (high resistance, moderate to high volume and minimal rest periods) enhances the effectiveness of functional movements even more. But more importantly, there is the fact that without proper nutrition, adequate sleep and a (relatively) balanced lifestyle the body will release stress hormones and if we can’t get things under control these hormones can do serious damage to our training and our health.

So go out there, lift heavy weights for time (with good technique), kick some butt and don’t forget to eat, sleep and smile!
